Hare Pyns . . . Again

Won't you be glad when I move on to something else?  This piece has taken me quite a while.  Here is where I stand now.  It's dark here today so the pictures aren't the best.

I did hit a bit of a snag with this last week. I had most of the background stitched on the top panel and realized that I had made a mistake.  One that I could see, but not find.  Know what I mean? So out it came.  I sent a frantic email to Sherri Jones telling her what had happened and asking her to send me more floss for the background.  She responded to my email within an hour and told me it would be in the mail to me that day.  It arrived on Saturday!  Just in time for me to spend some major time on the weekend getting it finished.

Stitched and ready to be made into the pocket.

I have just a little more to do on the background for this part.  I should be able to finish it off tonight.

One piece all stitched.

My favorite panel on the pocket!

My bags are packed and I'm headed off to class to put this baby together.   Hopefully, next time I post it will be with the finished object!

Keep on Stitching.

Quick Post

Here are a few pictures of my progress on Hare Pyns.

It's hard to see in these pictures, but I have begun the background on the top and bottom panels.

I need to get this finished up for class - next week!

I'm off to watch Mad Men on Netflix and work on the backgrounds.

Nana's Garden

This is the panel for the quilt I have chosen to welcome Livia to this world.

It is called Nana's Garden by Arlene Neely of Rabbit's Haven for Red Rooster Fabrics.

I decided to do some stem stitching on the center motif of the panel.  This makes the figures in the center motif pop.

And here is the finished quilt.  this was hard to photograph so that the colors weren't washed out.  I think this last one is the best although it doesn't show the entire quilt.

Have a great day.

Breath of Spring

My first start for March is Breath of Spring by Blackbird Designs.  I've started this on 35 count Lambswool over one.  Now, I need to find some itty bitty buttons for the finishing.  I'll keep that in mind in my travels and see what I can come up with.  I'm thinking that buttons from baby clothes would be ideal.
