Needleworker

I didn't take any progress pictures of Needleworker.  I have stitched this on 35 count Lambswool.  I have plans to finish this using the fabric in the background.

Little Sheep Virutes No. 4 - Courage

I have made a teeny, tiny start on this guy.

Sometimes the hardest part of project is committing to placement of the first few stitches.  That part is at least finished on this piece.

Home From Ocean City - Again

I spent the first weekend in May at Beach Retreat in Ocean City, Maryland sponsored by Salty Yarns.

First, let me say, Sara, Sally, and Mary are the most wonderful hostesses.  I always feel so welcome and special when I am there.

When I arrived I was given the agenda for the weekend (not too taxing) and this goodie bag.

Notice the gift card.  I brought that home with me to use the next time.

I shared Sea Robin 1 with my friends Stasi and Debbie.  I like this litte apartment.  I think it's where I stayed on my very first visit to Ocean City.

On Friday night I left one of these scissor fobs on my roommate's pillows.

I found this on my pillow when I went into bed from Stasi.  She thought that the button would make a great thread winder.  I have to agree.

On Sunday, I was given these goodies by Debbie.

Of course, it's not all about the stuff. I spent lots of time at the table in the dining room working on Little Sheep Virtues No. 3 Peace and Needleworker both by Little House Needleworks.  I  actually finished the stitching on Little Sheep Virtues No. 3.

And there was a bit of stash enhancement too.  I don't have pictures of that.  You'll see some of those projects in upcoming posts.

I don't think I've shown this travel project before.  Fun Every Day by Sam Sarah Design Studios.  I have the first one stitched, Tuesday.

and a great start on the second, January.

I have been working on these on car trips for the most part.  I can't wait until they have all been released.

I finished stitching this guy a little while ago.   I think I may finish him with red fabric.

Last week, I started stitching Folk Art Birds by Hinzeit.  This came with a limited edition charm which I am going to omit.

Home Again

I had intended this post for my return from Ocean City in April .  I haven't taken the time to post.  Mainly because, well, Hare Pyns is not assembled.  I did make quite a bit of progress.  I still have a long way to go.  So, no picture of that.  Actually, no pictures from the entire weekend, since I never took the camera out of my purse.  In fact, it's still in there!

I did have a wonderful weekend.  It is so great to go to The Lankford and Salty Yarns.  It's like going home with Sally and Sara as the hostesses.  So nice.  The accomodations were great.  I heard the ocean all weekend.  It was kind of quiet when I got home.  I've adjusted.  I do like the quiet where we live, too.

Sherri Jones is a great teacher and lovely person.  She brought her lovely models, drool worthy, each and every one.  I can't wait to take some future classes from her.  I think that decisions were made for classes for the next two years but am not exactly sure what they were.  Sherri also brought some things that were for sale.  I picked up these two chart packs,

this little kit,   and

this big, I have wanted it for years, kit.  She sold us these kits because we have learned her finishing technique with Hare Pyns.  Although the design is different, the finishing is the same.  I had wanted to take this class years ago when it was offered by a local shop (since closed) but wouldn't pay the $750 for the weekend.  I had wanted to attend as a commuter but the shop owner wouldn't allow it.  Good things come to those who wait!

So, no surprise I will be busy for quite some time.

Tweak-tweak, tweak-tweak

I've been tweaking my blog.

I added a new button on the right for Finish It Friday.  I first saw this on Cucki's Blog.  Cucki is a frequent commenter on my blog.  The button redirects you to Around the Homestead which has the details.  So, I'm going to see if I can get some things finished to post this month.  Lord knows I have plenty of candidates languishing in the baskets of shame!

I made my blog list smaller but all the blogs I read are visible by clicking on Show All.  I didn't realize that I could show as few as 10 blogs.  It's amazing what you can find with a little poking around.

And I added a few tickers at the bottom.  I've been working on weight loss and exercising, again, which is seriously interfering with my blogging and stitching time.  I hope to be able to get some stitching accomplished at lunchtime and on the weekends.   I did say that B A L A N C E was my word for this year.  And I'm working on it.  And I'm looking forward to my upcoming trips in the fall.
