It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like ... December

I've spent some time this evening getting the November monthly pieces put away and the December pieces out and set around.  And I actually have a finish to show you today!

First up - Fun Every Day switched over to December with the appropriate symbol on the right.

I put out these guys -

I flipped the page on this one

And I brought the Advent calendar down from the attic and hung it in the dining room.  I put on the one little ornament for the 1st.  It looks pretty lonely.  I also sent the kids a text letting them know that I had their backs and would be taking good care of the calendar this year.

And my finish - A Year in Chalk: December by Hands On Design.  I found this cute frame at Hobby Lobby in the Spring, on sale, thankyouverymuch.  And knew it would be perfect for these little pieces.  I ironed some fusible batting to the back and ta-done!  Easy peasy! I can switch these every month - of course, I need to do the magic ironing thing to the other 11 first.

Thanks for stopping by.

Saturday

I didn't do a lot today. But I did manage to finish the stitching on Traveleing Stitcher and the companion needlebook.  Still no luck in locating the Impie, Hattie, and Bea piece that I swear is lurking in my stitching room.  It wasn't in the closet as I had thought.  I'll keep looking as I work on and through other stuff in there.

After that finish I pulled this lovely out of the tote of WIP's

which will become this

And my post would not be complete without the calendar view for the day.

Sunday

Yesterday I put away Christmas.  Today I finally got out my things for January.  Here is what  I put on display.
Monthly Mania - January by Heart in Hand in the kitchen
January Teapot and January Tea Cup by Just Another Button Company in the kithcen

Hearts of the Month by Leisure Arts hanging on the china cupboard in the dining room

Santa of the Month by Curtis Boehringer in the living room

Be Warm by Shepherd's Bush part of Be-Attitudes series in the living room

Now, for a little stitching.  This afternoon I got the five pockets for A Fine and Fancy Tulip Tray by Patrick's Woods basted.  Thankfully I did not have as many setbacks with the other four as I did with the first.  It may help that I was trying to baste in daylight.  I tried to take a picture again and I think that my basting thread is too light to show up.

We are having freezing rain as I write this.  Yuck!  I must say that it does make the snow look pretty, kind of glossy like marshallow fluff.

One final picture for today.  Twenty-nine years ago I married the love of my life.

Have a wonderful evening!  Remember, Downton Abbey starts tonight at 9:00.

Be Merry

Here is my finished version of Be Merry by Shepherd's Bush.  When I ordered this years ago I was able to get the fabric, finishing fabric, and the buttons as part of a kit.
